The Easy-Peasy Journal
Here's a video I've wanted to make for a long time! It's an easy journal to bind that doesn't cost much and takes less than an hour.
Man, though, is it a lot of work! Hours to film, then edit, then upload all over the place -- there's a ton of effort that goes in to making these vids for you all! :) This is the first one I used my new camera for. Also, the volume issues are resolved...no more blasting you out of your seats!

I love this video!!!! keep making more!! I love to see a girl like me doing what I love.

I put a comment over on your You Tube site. WOW!! This is the coolest thing. I have tons of comp books lying around waiting for SOMETHING and now something is here. Part Deux, Hurry. *wink*

Thanks for tutorial! Where did you get your colorful safety ruler? I've been searching around and can't find them.

I would never think to use manila for this
but just to cheat even more
could not I do this with bind it all. Or you want the pages to be attached?
By the way did you see my payment for the magazine?

I can't wait to hear how it is to draw/paint/glue on manilla file folder paper!! One idea for your ruler if it doesn't have a cork underside is to glue strips of rug-gripper underneath. I think you can also buy sticky things that stick to the bottom, but I always go for the cheap method:-)

Great video. Can't wait to make one myself.

Thank you so much! And for telling how long it takes - I have been a little scared to attempt this binding, but having a video to SEE it done is wonderful. I also have racked my brain trying to think of heavy weight paper to use, that wasn't textured - voila! You are a genius! Thanks again so very much!

Thanks for such an inspiring video!!! You have totally solved the problem of flimsy paper, which is a huge deterrent for me, not to journal. I so appreciate the time it took you to make this for everyone. YOU ROCK!!! I hope you teach art journaling wherever you are, people would so pay to have someone like you as their teacher.

Thanks so much for sharing that with us. I would never have even attempted to make a journal like that - but now I think I am going to have to try one myself! I really appreciate you spending your precious time on making a video to share with all of us!

I have wanted to make a journal for a while now but I've been afraid of doing the wrong thing. Your wonderful and helpful video has given me confidence to give it a try. I so appreciate the time you took to take us through each step.
Thanks so much,

Well done!! This was a fabulous 'how to'! EAsy to follow...and love love love the budget consciousness of the materials. It's much easier for me to 'get it' when shown how...great job kiddo.

Thank you so much for the easy-to-follow instructions. I wanted to show you the journal I made, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alteredonpaper/2365251803/
The only thing I did differently was use less signatures (I couldn't get 20 folders into my comp book) and put black duct tape back over the edge, covering up my stitches. The binding tape on the comp book was pretty flimsy, so I wanted to shore it up. Oh, and the envelopes. :D
So, thank you! It really made a world of difference to be able to do the binding in front of my computer, watching you make the stitches...very, VERY easy. I encourage everyone to try this, so you can see how easy it really is. :D

I'd love to watch your video and be able to hear you talking... is there a way to turn the music down so I could hear your voice? I'm hearing impaired and when I turn the volume up, all I hear is music and can't hear you talking at all! Am I doing something wrong?
